Shirley is the owner of Paradise Found, which is all about responsible traveling. She holds a PhD in sustainable tourism from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Her research focused on governance models in the tourism sector, specialising in alternatives such as post- growth thinking in tourism and regenerative tourism.The connection between academia and practice is the foundation of her work. During her time as a researcher, she developed practice-oriented workshops in which she used the doughnut economy to develop tourism more holistically. After the completion of her PhD, she founded Paradise Found, a platform dedicated to responsible tourism, integrating both social and ecological sustainability. Nowadays, she works with governments, destination marketing organizations, and tourism companies on sustainable change in practice, but always supported with scientific knowledge. By thinking along with strategic issues she strives to demonstrate how things can be done differently and how the tourism sector could develop in a more regenerative way. Dr. Willy Legrand is a Professor at IU International University of Applied Sciences in Bonn, Germany, specialising in sustainable hospitality development and management. Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Legrand has served as a visiting professor at universities in Singapore, India, Dubai, France, Peru, Estonia, and the United States. He co-edits works like "Sustainable Hospitality and Tourism as Motors for Development" and the "Routledge Handbook of Sustainable Food and Gastronomy." He is also the lead author of "Sustainability in the Hospitality Industry" and "Critical Questions in Sustainability and Hospitality." Maartin is a partner at PROW Capital, where he is responsible for ESG, including for the Green Shipping Fund, a private debt fund aimed at speeding up the decarbonization of shipping. During this time he co-authored the PRI guide on how to integrate ESG in Private Equity. During her time as a researcher, she developed practice-oriented workshops in which she used the doughnut economy to develop tourism more holistically.
